Wayne Metro and Big Read - now through May 2, 2010
Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency will join with the Caroline Kennedy Library of Dearborn Heights and other libraries of Wayne County, including Bacon Memorial in Wyandotte, to launch the 2010 Big Read program in celebration of Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451.
The Big Read is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and in cooperation with Arts Midwest and is designed to restore reading to the center of American culture. Events, giveaways, contests and other Big Read activities are planned throughout the metro area to encourage reading for pleasure and enlightenment.
Big Read events including book discussions, film screenings, and family events have been planned in various locations throughout Out-Wayne County and will run through May 2, 2010.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE APRIL 22 BOOK LAUNCH DATE HAS CHANGED AND THE APRIL 23 EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
