Weatherization
Wayne Metro's Weatherization Assistance Program is a FREE program funded through the Department of Energy and offers energy assistance to income-eligible home owners and renters in Hamtramck, Highland Park, Harper Woods the Grosse Pointes, and Dearborn.
Weatherization works by reducing household energy consumption through cost-effective, energy efficiency measures including:
- Attic, Wall and or Floor Insulation
- Steel Replacement Doors
- Storm Windows
- Window Repair/Replacement
- Programmable Thermostat
- Furnace and Duct Repair or Replacement
- Roof Repairs
- Ceiling and Wall Repairs
- Smoke Detectors
- Compact Fluorescent Bulbs
Occasionally funding also allows for Roof Replacement.
